5.Connecting Google Merchant Centre and Google Ads
Google Merchant Centre is a one-stop solution for your campaigning and merchant needs, you can register an account on Merchant Centre, it allows you to manage your feed and set marketing/shipping policies which are mandatory.
You will then need to connect your Merchant centre to your Shopify store using an app in the Shopify app store. There are many to choose from, we recommend you go for one with the highest rating to prevent any issues when you try and set things up.
Once your Merchant Centre is up and running, you need to register an account on Google Ads.
- Verify Your Domain: You need to verify your domain by logging in and providing access to Google, it’s an automated process in the Merchant Centre, you must enter the required details.
- Linking Google Ads to Google Merchant Centre: To automate the process and receive real-time analytics on your store elements, you need to link your Google Ads account to your Merchant Centre which will retrieve the products you will create an ad for.
- Set-up Tax and Shipping: You can define your policies about Taxation and Shipping in the Merchant Centre, it is a mandatory process and subject to legal laws.
Once this process is done, head over to Google Ads and follow the steps:
- Click on + New Campaign
- Select the Sales objective
- Define your conversion goal
- Select Shopping ads
- Select accounts and countries you want the ads to show up in.
- Provide an attractive title to your listing/ad
- Define your Budget and Biddings – $5 – $10 per day is a good start.
- Complete the set up with your requirements as per your dropshipping business
